The program would be most beneficial to top-level executives in charge of business units, divisions or entire firms as well as senior executives in charge of business development and other functions key to driving competitiveness, whether in family-owned businesses or public companies, with a single-product focus or a diversified portfolio. The program content does not require the use of quantitative skills; its working language is English. Simultaneous translation shall only be provided to facilitate in-class conversations.

Teaching Methodology

Participants will explore a wide range of aspects of strategies of real-life firms by actively participating in fast paced case discussions. Faculty will guide the discussion, also providing concepts and practice- oriented frameworks that can be used in analyzing, designing and implementing strategies. Hands-on exercises will provide an opportunity to apply some of the ideas right away.

Faculty Profile

Prof. Zoltan Antal Mokos, PhD

Zoltán Antal-Mokos has been a professor of strategy and dean of degree programs at ESMT Berlin since 2011, which followed his service as associate dean since 2009 and the director of Executive MBA Program since 2007. Prior to joining ESMT in 2005, Zoltán was the McKinsey & Co. Chair in Strategy at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, Hungary. Zoltán has created and delivered courses on corporate and competitive strategy, and mergers and acquisitions at MBA and EMBA level. He has been teaching on general management executive education programs as well as more strategy- focused executive seminars, and contributed to corporate programs for a variety of international clients. In his consulting practice, Zoltán has advised top management and run strategy-making workshops for international corporations in the oil and gas sector, FMCG, telecom, and a flag carrier airline.
